South Queensferry Regatta on Sunday 17 June 2012

The next race action is going to be on the Coigach peninsula on 19 and 20 May.  In the meantime though, we have been asked to give a wee mention to the regatta at South Queensferry on 17 June hosted in conjunction with the RNLI open day so that there will be plenty to see and do for non-rowers as well.  Highlights of last year include watching the rescue dogs, daring rescues from the sea in a demonstration by the rescue helicopter and a display by the fire boats firing water jets.

Last Year's Regatta: Dancing Tugs

RAcing this year will be on a long course which will incorporate several turns as well as incorporating Queensferry’s historic bridges.  The current plan is to have a maximum of twelve boats with places allocated on a one boat per club, first come, first served basis. If there are any free places towards the end of May then we will open registration to second boats. The registration cost will be £10 per boat.  Boats should carry numbers as allocated on the register of craft found on the “participants” tab of this website.  Intended catgegories are:   Mens Open, Womens Open, Mixed Open, Mens 45+, Womens 45+, Mixed 55+.
