Troon will celebrate the launcing of its second St Ayles skiff on Sunday 28 October.  The ceremony will take place at 2pm at the slipway in the South West corner of Troon Marina.  The second skiff, to be called “Ailsa Lass“,  will join “Marr Voyager” which was launched in the town last year.

The naming ceremony will be carried out by Alex MacKenzie, one of the team of servicemen and former sevicemen who rowed accross the altantic last year under the banner Row2Recovery , raising almost £1million for charity in the process.

The club have been working hard on developing their skills on the water too, with club members Alan Farrell and Mick Boden passing their UKCC level 2 Coastal Rowing Coaching assessments to become fully qualified rowing coaches (see post below).
