Queensferry’s Second Skiff

Queensferry Rowing Club invite all fellow skiffers to the launch of their second skiff “Ferry Maid” on Saturday 24 November.  Her sister skiff “Ferry Lass” will welcome her into the water on at 12 noon, launching from the old harbour Queensferry. The naming ceremony will be performed by one of Queensferry Rowing Club’s founder members Sheena Mackay and the dedication will be read by Siobhan Johnson, Club Captain. Tea/Coffee and rolls will be provided for those who attend and everyone is welcome for a trip out on both “Ferry Lass” and “Ferry Maid” weather permitting.

A second skiff allows two crews to train side by side, and will allow the club to organise its own informal internal events, and possibly put on events for the local community. Now the racing can begin………

Queensferry have always been a sociable club, keen to join in with the spirit of Scottish Coastal Rowing.  They recently welcomed members of Eskmouthe Rowing Club down to show them the Maid as she had her finishing touches, and the East Lothian Club have been given the use of Queensferry’s building frame and mould for their own build.
