North Berwick’s Third Skiff: Blackadder

North Berwick’s third St Ayles skiff, Blackadder was launched almost exactly four years after the launch of their first, St Baldred. Blackadder is named after  John Blackadder, covenanter, who was imprisoned on the Bass Rock.  Photos by Steve Thompson.

Hinba Launched from Isle of Luing

  The Isle of Luing launched their St Ayles skiff “Hinba” on 24 May 2014. “Hinba”  is an island in Scotland of unknown location that was the site of a small monastery associated with the Columban church on Iona.
