Member at Royal West of Scotland Amateur Boat Club, Greenock. Started coxing in the early eighties at school, been rowing since mid-eighties. Have approx 30 years experience of fixed seat coastal rowing (pleasure & competitive) as well as sliding seat racing, coaching and training. However been busy getting married & growing a family for the last 10 years, with minimal rowing. My son has taken up kayaking so at the club more frequently. Been caught by Ian Clark and co-opted onto the committee of the SCRA. Looking at development of a formal/recognized coaching course in coastal rowing. Attending UKCC Level 2 Coaching Course for Fixed Seat Rowing run by Welsh Rowing at Aberystwyth Rowing Club on the weekend of 10th-13th September 2010. Will use this to help develop links with similar established clubs on Welsh coast as well as developing our own coaches. Will report to SCRA.
