Had not looked all the way to the bottom of this page before. We still have two heavy fours at Royal West, Zebra and Whiteforeland. If you are through this way look us up.

My teen years were spent happily splashing in heavy fours off Greenock. It's great to see coastal rowing taking off all around Scotland. The boat design looks very good and incredibly affordable. I'd love to get involved again, though I'd miss my sliding seat.

Drop an email to one of the committee members. Fee for membership for 2011 is £60. As long as you are happy with the constitution of the association, you are most welcome a s a member. Good luck with building.

Congratulations on the beautiful new boat. You are so lucky to have Iain Oughtred up in Skye. Such a pity for us in Cork that he didn't stay here all those years ago.
is there any chance of some boats making it south to Cork for the Ocean to City race on Sat. 5th June next? I'd say there'd be a lot of interest in seeing the boat down here too. www.oceantocity.com
I'm a member of a currach club here involved in recreational rowing but we also have a Bantry Bay longboat and are looking around for a smaller coxed sail / oar boat that doesn't require a crew the size of a football team to go out to complement it.

Congratulations on your project. I am a member of the Foyle Punt Assoc. and we row Foyle class punts on Lough Foyle. last year we launched 2 Donegal skiffs as well and we had a very successful Open day in september 09, with visting crews participating. We have a dream of rowing to Skye.!!?( St Columba left from lough Foyle). We have the crew but are considering purchase of Celtic Longboat...(funds are low at present given recession). We have about 90 members.

We are trying to gather together interest for nine boats throughout the Outer Hebrides. So far three groups have expressed an interest.
