Kabes etc

After a full, frank and good natured discussion at the General Meeting of the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association on 24 October 2010  it was determined that the current measurement rules for the St Ayles skiff would be enforced next year.  These require that the kabes are made of hardwood.  Metal fittings are not permitted for oarlock systems.  It is the responsibility of regatta organisers and referrees to enforce the rules, and builders and rowers to abide by them.

The measurement rules can be found on the document tab on this website.  The rules can be used to optimise safety, enjoyment of rowing, aesthetics, ease of build and affordability.
