One point already raised about this page is the small script size – click on the "AA" at the top right of the screen to toggle through different display sizes. In Firefox and MS Internet Explorer, you can also use CTRL and "+" or "-" to zoom in or out. To reset the display size to normal, press CTRL and "0″ (Zero).
I've made a couple of tweaks along the lines you suggested.
First, the front page of the site is (as it was) the About Page. The posts you make appear on the (now published) News page you created.
Second, the theme colour settings for the tagline, the page tabs and the sidebar links have been changed to RGB codes in the Admin | Appearance | Fusion settings page, towards the bottom, in the "user CSS code" box.
This is a really good theme for easy customisations like this – updates don't break your modifications, once you've handled a bit of CSS.
