Freshwater Sprint at Loch Venacher 26 October 2013

SCRA is repeating the combination of a season closing sprint regatta on a fresh water loch followed by the AGM.  Last season we had a very successful day at Castle Semple Loch.  This year the Freshwater Sprint will take place on Loch Venacher and the AGM will be held at 1700 in nearby Callander (notice of AGM to follow shortly).

Once again the emphasis in the racing is on ensuring that newcomers and developing rowers are encouraged, as well as providing open categories that anyone can take part in.   Newer clubs should treat this as a very accessible event and a good introduction to racing.  More experienced clubs should see it as a chance to give newer, junior and developing members an opportunity to race in the Novice, Intermediate and Under 19 Categories.  More experienced members (regardless of age) will still be able to race in the Men, Women, and Mixed open category, as well as the long distance Mixed Open event.

Venacher is a splendid location, and spectators will have a good view of the entire sprint course from the club house.  Loch Venacher Sailing Club will be providing hot drinks, sandwiches and snacks for purchase.   There will be an entry fee of £15 per skiff (one off payment, regardless of the number of categories entered)  to defray the costs of running the event.

Further details can be found in the NOTICE OF RACE.  The ENTRY FORM is now online. Note that there is a closing date for entries:  19 October 2013.
