Isle of Arran’s Iolair

We are delighted to welcome another community and another skiff onto the water.  The Isle of Arran’s new skiff Iolair was introduced to the water at Lamlash, on a lovely sunny day.  Have the rowers been tricked into thinking the weather will always be like this when they are out rowing?

A second skiff is already in build on the Island, so Iolair will have company and Arran will be able to organise some side by side racing and socialising. Many folk have remarked what a fantastic location Lamlash Bay would be for a championships.  Iolair is the skiff 108 on the UK register.  The name is the gaelic word for eagle, and she carries a magnificent carved head of an eagle on her bow. Welcome to her, congratulations to her builders, and good luck to her crews.
