Boatie Blest Regatta Results

Tight port hand turns in a race course with hard sides saw excellent coxing being rewarded at Port Seton’s Boatie Blest Regatta on Saturday.  After a bit of a damp start the harbour filled with sufficient water to allow racing to start.  There were 70 races all together as head to head pursuit style matches, led to the fastest four crews in each category going through to knock out semi finals.  Broughty Ferry won the first event, mens open ahead of North Berwick.  The home club won the women’s open, and indeed had the best of the rest of the day.

There was a great turn out of clubs clustered around the small harbour.  North Berwick and Eastern had both rowed their skiffs from their respective home bases to Port Seton Harbour.  As well as Broughty and Boatie they were joined by Newhaven, Row Porty, Eskmuthe, Anstruther, Firth of Clyde, Royal West, St Andrews and Portsoy.
