Fisherrow and Musselburgh send their  thanks to the St Ayles skiffs and crews that came over to Fisherrow on the Sunday of the Portobello regatta. Musselburgh was hosting its annual Honest Lad and Honest Lass festivities. The  attendance of skiffs from North Berwick, Portobello and Port Seton created a lot of interest and certainly enhanced the day – a lot of people were very impressed and the tossed oars ‘salute’ given by the crews as the fishing boat bearing the lad and lass came out of the harbour was a nice gesture and very much appreciated.
Quintin Pink and other potential skiffies from the Honest Toon got a lot of interest and some serious offers from people wanting to support building a boat for Musselburgh and Fisherrow. They hope to carry this momentum forward and get a St Ayles skiff build started in the near future. Anyone interested in community boat building in Fisherrow and Musselburgh should contact quintin.pink@btinternet.com .
